Curtiss-Wright Announces $80 Million Multi-Year Investment to Expand Its Operations in Cheswick, Pennsylvania

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW) today announced an $80 million, multi-year investment to expand operations at its Cheswick, Pennsylvania facility, part of the Company’s Naval & Power segment, through a combination of internal capital investments, state support and maritime industrial base funding via the U.S. Department of War budget.

Curtiss-Wright’s Cheswick campus, which spans 118 acres, designs, manufactures, and tests advanced solutions for critical naval defense and commercial nuclear markets. As part of these investments, the company will construct two new buildings to expand manufacturing and testing capacity, improve operational efficiency, reduce lead times, and support future growth. The expansion, which began in 2025 and is supported by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Governor Josh Shapiro, is expected to create approximately 150 new jobs over the next three years while retaining more than 860 existing positions.

“This expansion strengthens our ability to meet growing customer demand in our naval defense and commercial nuclear end markets, and reinforces our commitment to the workforce and the community to ensure that Curtiss-Wright remains a critical supplier to these industries for the next decade and beyond,” said Lynn M. Coordinated by the Governor’s BusinessPA team, the company received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for a $1,210,000 grant through the PA SITES (Pennsylvania Strategic Investments to Enhance Sites) Program.

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW) today announced that it has transitioned from Design to Prototype Manufacturing of Helium Circulator Systems and Reactivity Control and Shutdown Systems, both pivotal components in X-energy’s Xe-100 advanced High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (“HTGR”).

The Helium Circulator System is integral to the reactor's functionality, efficiently circulating helium throughout the primary system. This process is crucial for transferring thermal energy from the reactor core to the steam generator, enabling conversion into electrical power, optimizing process heat usage, and enabling effective residual heat removal.

Complementing this, the Reactivity Control and Shutdown System is designed to regulate temperature and provide an independent and reliable method to safely shut down the reactor during operation. It features two separate rod banks, each equipped with essential control rod drive mechanisms and controls.

Cheswick, PA – March 25, 2026 – Curtiss-Wright today announced that it has signed a Teaming Agreement with Hanwha Ocean of Korea for long-term cooperation on the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project for Towed Array Handling Systems to support KSS-III submarines. Work under this agreement will be performed by Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Systems, based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Cheswick, PA: Curtiss-Wright today announced that it has been awarded a four-year contract from the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) to supply its Recovery Assist, Secure and Traverse (RAST) systems to the U.S. Navy. Under the contract, Curtiss-Wright’s Mississauga, Ontario, facility, part of Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Systems, will manufacture the systems and provide technical field support to the U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center.

Cheswick, PA – October 6, 2025 – – Curtiss-Wright today announced that it has received a $25 million contract award to provide design services in support of the Royal Canadian Navy’s River Class Destroyer (RCD) program. The contract was issued by Irving Shipbuilding Inc. in support of its broader agreement with the Royal Canadian Navy for the supply of RCD ships. Under this contract, Curtiss-Wright will integrate its Aircraft Ship Integrated Secure and Traverse (ASIST) helicopter handling system into the overall design of the RCD vessels. CHESWICK, P.A.­­ – June 19, 2025 –Curtiss-Wright's Electro-Mechanical Systems division today announced that its ESCO business unit headquartered in Aston, Pennsylvania with satellite operations in France has relocated its French operations to a new state-of-the-art facility. ESCO’s headquarters and primary operations will remain in Aston, Pennsylvania providing ongoing strategic oversight and support for ESCO’s global operations.

ESCO’s France operation will remain in the Cognac area, moving a short distance from Merpins to Genté. The new facility supports ESCO’s global growth, providing expanded capacity for overhaul and repair while maintaining current manufacturing, development and test capability for the world’s most advanced aircraft arresting systems.

The new 56,000-square-foot facility provides a 27% increase in floorspace and consolidates ESCO's France operations from three separate buildings into a unified workspace. The facility integrates all personnel - including sales, engineering, operations, test and administration - under one roof, fostering collaboration and improving operational efficiency.

This testing represents a significant upgrade to the RAAF's capabilities, providing enhanced braking performance essential for the demands of modern aviation.

Curtiss-Wright Awarded $27 Million Contract to Provide Aircraft Handling Systems and Support for U.S. Navy Constellation Class Frigates

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW) today announced that it has received a $27 million contract award from the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) for the supply of Aircraft Ship Integrated Securing and Traversing (ASIST) systems. Under the agreement, Curtiss-Wright’s facility based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada will provide its critical aircraft handling systems and support to the U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center for use on Constellation Class Frigates (FFG-62). The recent award is part of a five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, potentially valued at nearly $100 million.

In addition to supplying the U.S. Navy with the ASIST system, Curtiss-Wright and CCC have partnered on numerous contracts with the U.S. military over the past 40 years for hardware components, equipment, and systems including the RAST (Recovery Assist, Secure and Traverse) shipboard system for helicopters.

Curtiss-Wright and Sintavia Deliver First Submarine Component Utilizing an Additively Manufactured Impeller to Be Installed in a U.S. Navy Vessel

CHESWICK, P.A. – Curtiss-Wright’s EMS Division today announced that it has delivered the first submarine component with an additively manufactured (AM) impeller that will be installed in a U.S. Navy vessel.

Curtiss-Wright’s Engineered Pump Division (EPD) in Bethlehem, PA, Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. (BPMI) in Monroeville, PA, and Sintavia, LLC in Fort Lauderdale, FL, collaborated to develop, manufacture, test, and supply the first submarine component utilizing a qualified, metal additively manufactured part. Sintavia, a leader in designing and manufacturing critical additively manufactured defense components, provided the AM impeller after a thorough qualification process. This impeller was assembled into the pump and tested at Curtiss-Wright’s facility in Bethlehem, PA. 

Additive manufacturing technology offers a solution to the development of a product or component that historically has been difficult or costly to manufacture, often resulting in delays. The use of this technology is expected to provide a reliable and high-quality domestic source while also leading to shorter manufacturing lead times, increased quality, lower risk in performance, and improved delivery to further meet the needs of the U.S. Navy.

Curtiss-Wright Awarded $26 Million Contract to Provide Aircraft Arresting Systems and Support to the Belgian Air Force

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW) today announced that it has been awarded a $26 million multi-year contract by the Belgian Air Force to implement a modernization program for its aircraft arresting systems.

Under the agreement, Curtiss-Wright will provide new cable systems and related turnkey services to three airbases to support the upcoming delivery of the F-35 to Belgium, as well as safeguard its emergency takeoff and landing phases. The contract also provides various services, spares, repair, and overhaul supporting the Belgian Air Force’s military flight operations.

Curtiss-Wright will successively equip the main and parallel runways of the Florennes, Kleine-Brogel, and Bevauchain Air Bases to drive complete standardization of all air base configurations. In addition, Curtiss-Wright’s ESCO SmartArrest® system, a unique, computerized version of the ESCO BAK-12 energy absorber, will help to automatically ensure the successive arrestment of multiple fighter jet platforms.

Curtiss-Wright is performing the work within its EMS division in the Naval & Power segment. Manufacturing of the energy absorbers and the BAK-12 mobile systems (PortArrest®) will take place at its Arresting Systems facility in Aston, Pa, while retractable hook cable systems will be manufactured at its Merpins, France facility. Additionally, a 10-year maintenance contract for services, spares, repair, and overhaul will be performed at the Merpins facility which has historically supported NATO European customers.
